Thirteen, September 2022. Dunkeld, Scottish Highlands.

Black and white photographic prints, 145x50cm.

Alone in Scotland I was being challenged into presence by the pied flycatcher. 13 grams is the average weight of the flycatcher, and there she was, sat directly opposite me. With a fast moving stream between us, I couldn't move until she did. Mother Nature is both soft and powerful, still and moving, mesmerising and tiring. I am intrigued by this duality, in the series thirteen I am searching for a visual representation of Mother Natures feelings, her connectedness, her hurt, her love, her depth. The imagery I am left with gives me an insight into the raw feminine.
